My name is Emilia Vilos and I am in the 9th grade. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. Sports have always been such an important part of my life, but it is on the soccer pitch where I feel most at ease and balanced with the universe. The tactics, athleticism and purity of the game are more demanding than any other sport and being in the middle of it all during matches are what I thrive on.
I play in the midfield but can play in other attacking positions on either side of the field because I can play and shoot equally with both feet. I play for the London Whitecaps 2011 OPDL team. I am a very hard working and coachable player. I train in some capacity daily, and am dedicated to developing my technical skills, athletic abilities and knowledge of the game. I balance my busy training schedule with schoolwork and I am an "A" student in all of my subjects currently with a 4.0 GPA.
I would love to play for a competitive university soccer program one day while receiving a quality education either in Canada or the USA. I plan on majoring in health sciences and potentially in a pre-medical program. I enjoy learning about the world around me and how biologic systems work and want to help people live a balanced and healthy life one day. I feel that the mental training and dedication required to play soccer at a high level will also help me keep my academic discipline in check, which can help me fulfill these academic goals.
In my free time, I love to cook and prepare interesting and healthy meals for myself and my family. I have 2 younger sisters who also love soccer and play at a very competitive level. I love to spend time with them and have fun when we have a break from our busy schedules. We all love to travel and have been fortunate to visit many overseas places with our parents, which usually allows us to play some pick-up soccer with the local talent too.
I am very excited about my team, my upcoming season, and look forward to working hard for my teammates and coaches. I feel that I am in a great place to grow my game and elevate my skills to the next level in preparation for an opportunity to be evaluated at the Collegiate level. |
